The Gemstones of Heaven ~ New Jerusalem

**There are twelve foundation stones in Heaven, also known as New Jerusalem. In addition to the twelve foundation stones it is said that the Gates of Heaven are made of Pearl and the streets are paved with Gold. Gemstones had many different names in ancient times, so they are open to different interpretations. This is one interpretation based on how they are described in the New Testament of The Bible in Revelation 21: 19-20.

1.Japis, Jasper, a red stone; most likely Red Jasper.

2.Sapphiros, Sapphire, a blue color referring to the blue sky; most likely Lapis Lazuli.

3.Chalkedon, Chalcedony, a dark green stone; most likely a dark Green Jasper.

4.Smaragdos, an emerald green gem; most likely Emerald.

5.Sardovyx, Sardonyx, a red banded stone; most likely Red Banded Onyx or Agate.

6.Sardion, Sard, a red stone; most likely Red Carnelian.

7.Chrysolithos, Chrysolite, a golden stone; most likely Citrine.

8.Berylos, Beryl, a sea green color; most likely Aquamarine.

9.Topazion, Topaz, a bright yellow stone; most likely Precious Topaz.

10. Chrysoprasos, Chrysoprase, an apple green color; most likely Chrysoprase.

11. Hyakinthos, Hyacinth, a dark blue in those times; most likely Sodalite.

12. Amethystos, Amethyst, purple in color; most likely Amethyst.
